Understanding Color
Colors are an important part of your brand. It provokes emotions and expresses what your business is about. From childhood, we’re taught to associate certain colors with feelings. In adulthood, colors still have an influence on people. We know color schemes of well-known brands like McDonalds and Starbucks. And with less-known brands, these colors can give us an idea of what kind of business it is and even draw us to inquire with it.
If you just starting a business or thinking about a relaunch, it’s a good idea to think about the impact your color scheme is having. Start off with brainstorming different palette ideas. For example, if you’re a luxury brand, you might want to explore blacks and purples. If you are in healthcare, you might want to go with a more clean and tranquil colors like white and blue. Say you’re a kids business, it’s a good idea to go with something playful and cheerful like yellows and oranges and bright blues and pinks. On the other hand, a professional business like an insurance agent or lawyer might want to go a neutral colors like brow.
