The Power of Storytelling

One of the biggest changes I made during relaunch was related to my packages. I originally had a package called “The Works.” The package involved 3 months on a selection of platforms suited to the client’s needs. After some consideration, I decided to change it up. I chose to go with a 6-month package focused on the storytelling component. But why does storytelling matter for your marketing?

Entrepreneurship is about passion. I don’t care what your industry is; there’s a reason(most likely) why you started besides money. I personally created Bay Rock to help small businesses seamlessly digitalize their brand. Another one of my “whys” is to inspire others, especially females, to go after their dreams. These two factors are part of my business’s story. Think of it as the before part of your story.

The story and journey continues after your first launch. Think of all the wins and failures. Reflect on the people you’ve met, the clients you work with, and the places you’ve been. Take the time to reflect on how you continue to stay true to your why.

This is how you create effective marketing. The reality is small business owners don’t have big budgets to spend on massive marketing and thousands on paid ads. However, what they do have is a strong story that needs to be reflected in their digital marketing efforts. The story of your brand needs to be expressed first on your site, especially through mission statements, commitments, and about pages. The visuals on your site are also an excellent way to tell this story. Your brand’s story also needs to be represented on other marketing platforms, social media, email, and blogs.

I hope this helped provide some background on how powerful storytelling is. I love to tell and hear a good story which is why I made it a cornerstone of my own brand. If you’re struggling to tell your own brand’s story, please reach out to bayrockdigitalmarketing@gmail.com to learn more about our digital storytelling packages!
