Getting Started with Email Marketing
Email marketing can be very beneficial for your brand. It’s a good way to connect and share important messages with your audience. However, many entrepreneurs have difficulty getting started with it. Indeed, the process can feel intimidating at first, but following these pointers can help ease some of those feelings around it.
First, you have to ask yourself what the objective of your campaign is. Are you doing this to increase sales, build an audience, educate, inform, or build relationships?
Most people think of Constant Contact and Mailchip when they think of email marketing. I personally like both of them and I use Mailchimp for my other business. Flodesk, MailerLite, and ConvertKit are a few more platforms according to Semrush’s blog “Top 10 Email Marketing Platforms for 2024.” This article details the pros and cons of each platform, as well as pricing. Remember, it’s okay to listen to suggestions from other people but it’s key to choose the platform that is best suited for your business’s needs. What’s your budget? Would you like to start with a free option first? How many subscribers do you have? What’s your audience like? What kind of features do you need? These are all important questions to ask yourself when you’re shopping for an email marketing platform.
Now that you have chosen a platform, you can start the setup process. Create an account and start setting it up! This is the time when you can upload contacts, connect them with new contacts, create your branding kit together, and get a feel of the templates. Spend some time familiarizing yourself with the features and layout of the campaigns. During this time, you can also start to think about catchy subject lines and the scheduling of your emails.
I hope this helped provide some information on the process of email marketing. This can be a very effective way to share updates about your business with your audience.
