Exploring Links
A few weeks ago I did a blog post on links. Links building is a subtype of off-page SEO that has lots of benefits.. However, it can be overwhelming to learn about it. This blog is designed to give you a glimpse into the variety of links.
First, let’s start with exploring the different types of links which include internal, external and backlinks. They can also be editorial, earned and authoritative. Links can also be follow or no-follow. Even though no-follow links don’t contribute towards link equity, It’s good to have a mix of both. For example, links from social media are no-follow and might not count as an endorsement but can bring traffic to your site.
Internal links are links that point from one part of your website to another, while external links bring the visitor from your site to another website. Backlinks are when another site links to yours.
You can obtain earned links if you produce a piece of content that is high-quality and another website likes it and chooses to link it to yours. Editorial links also show that you have value, while authoritative links showing your strong standing with your online presence. Backlinks help drive traffic to your site and help build credibility, authority and relevance as well as improving SEO.
However, it’s imperative to remember partaking in black-hat SEO practices and violating Google’s guidelines can negativity impact your site. Make sure you’re checking your spam score and that the practices you are using align with white-hat SEO standards.
