Community= SUCCESS!!
I started Bay Rock during a time when distance meant safety. For those of you who don’t know, I started my business in November of the infamous 2020. My “why” for my business has always been about “community.” It has always been the power of togetherness and community that has allowed people to be victorious during the darkest of times.
In combination with the risks in person interactions during the pandemic, the age of hyper digitalization and being in the digital space, the concept of community looks different. It is more about creating a “digital community.” But how do you do that and why does it matter?
If you have a business, organization or town that is on social media it is important that you treat that like it is a REAL community. This means to focus on real people who can contribute real value to your page. Yes, it is good to have a lot of followers but you want to focus more on how connected those followers are.
Another major component to building a digital community is to engage those followers. Don’t just have them there to brag about how great your business or organization is. Have them be a part of your page. Think of ways to engage your audience with questions or even fun games when appropriate.
Lastly, your digital presence needs to be reflective of your brand. It needs to be something strong that people want to go back to and know they are going to get similar content that inspires them. It is key to think about how that content can help your viewers and how people can share that.
