Check Those Analytics: Level Up your Digital Marketing!

Digital marketing can be exhausting! As business owners, there's so much to consider. We feel like so much is expected of us to make sure we’re doing it right and we’re constantly comparing ourselves to other entrepreneurs. But what is a way to navigate around this? How can we level up our digital marketing strategies?

As a digital marketing business owner, I see vast differences when I not only post consistently but check the analytics. When these two parts go to the wayside, is when I see problems start to arise. It is very important that you’re not only posting regularly but checking to see what’s REALLY working. Here’s some aspects to look at:

Page View/Visitors: After all your efforts, you want to make sure people are actually making it to your site. This metric shows the number of people that are looking at your page in a given amount of time. It is important that you keep track of this to see if you’re promoting yourself enough.

Followers and Engagement: Yes, we want a lot of followers but don’t put all your eggs in one basket. Don’t just try to accumulate a lot of followers to try to wow people. If a lot of your followers aren’t engaging with your content or showing interest in your business, it’s really not effective. I strongly advise looking at these two metrics interchangeably when checking analytics.

Geographical analytics: It is also imperative that you check geographical analytics, especially if your aim is local. You can see what countries and cities people who engage with your page live. This will help you to determine better what content you want to create and where you want to reach.

Age/Gender: Many businesses have a target marketing that involves age and gender. If you're one of those businesses, make sure you're checking this to see if your content is aligning with your target market.

This is just a snapshot of analytics. It can be a lot to learn this and even more of a challenge to stay consistent with it. However, the improvements you see are amazing.
