How to Generate Creative Content

Full disclosure, I struggle with content creation. It can be very difficult to think about creative and engaging content, which is a major reason people don’t produce it. As entrepreneurs, we know the importance of consistently promoting our brand online. Here are some ways to produce content your clients and followers/subscribers will love!

Plan. It really helps to plan your content for the week or even earlier. I’ve found that planning holds me accountable to actually post what I have to. I like using Trello to plan my social posts for my clients and my own business. Trello has a free plan that offers a lot, especially if you’re just starting out. As for my blog and newsletter, I’ve found a traditional planner to help organize my ideas and schedule. I get it, you’re so busy as a business owner so organizing your thoughts helps!

Dress Up Trends to Fit YOU!: Whether we like it or not, trends work, even the silly ones. It can feel very repetitive and conforming to follow what everyone else is doing, but it can really help work with the algorithm on social media and just captivate people’s attention. That being said, it’s still imperative to stay true to who you and your brand are. If you’re going to start following the trends, make sure they match up with the way you produce content and that makes sense for your industry.

Find your voice and have fun!: They don’t call it social media for no reason! It’s supposed to be SOCIAL. Just the way you or your business might attend a party, that’s a similar way you should be showing up online. Find your unique voice and decide what kind of content and what feel you want to go for and stick with that! If it doesn’t feel right for your brand, don’t pursue it. It’s ok to take inspiration from other pages and discuss with fellow entrepreneurs on what’s worked for them but don’t let it overwhelm you. Be real, be consistent, and have fun!

I don’t want you to feel discouraged from producing content on your channels. Remember, every channel might not be right for you. I’ve found that my business performs best on Linkedin, but my newsletter is where I receive the most feedback It’s good to have a presence in different places but not everywhere! I really feel with the right motivation and support, you will feel like you are on the path of posting. I want to see you producing that content that people will love and look forward to!
