Check on Your Website!

As entrepreneurs, most of us have websites. A website is the digital home of our business. It’s a place you should send clients to learn more about what you do. A website is still a very important part of business even in the age of social media. And it’s necessary that you as the owner, regularly check in on it. Like I always say a website is never truly done, so updates will always be needed.

Some of the biggest changes are what is actually going on with your business. If you recently added or discontinued services, changed prices or your team has changed, these edits need to be made ASAP. We all know from a customer standpoint how frustrating non-updated information is. And of course, if your business recently went through a rebrand, that should be reflected on the site.

Another change to look out for is aesthetics. Trends and preferences change year by year. Your website from a decade ago is not going to appeal to the new audiance. People prefer different styles and ways to navigate it as time goes on. Of course, you should stay true to who you are, but also consider how people prefer to approach websites.

As the owner, you might also find your own boredom causing low excitement about looking at your site. If this is the case, it’s a good idea to make some changes. It’s difficult to sustain interest and get others exhilarated when you don’t feel that way yourself. Tweak it up, change up the colors, and add something new and exciting.

I hope this helped provide some information about web edits. Remember, don’t overwhelm yourself at first. Write out a roadmap and take it step by step. Take a little time out each day to make these changes.
