Self-Care Tips for Entrepreneurs
The daily life of an entrepreneur can be a lot and can be very difficult to manage it all. Last week I discussed ways to build a healthier relationship with technology. But this week I want focus on something I think all entrepreneurs need to practice and that’s self-care.
When I first launched Bay Rock, I didn’t really know what to expect. It was 2020 and I just wanted to launch a business that helped people. I knew running a business was going to be stressful but I didn’t imagine what that stress would really feel like. More importantly, I didn’t know ways to manage it. However, it didn’t take me long to come up with a formula to navigate it
I think developing a formula is key. I’ve found that connecting with nature, particularly the lake by me has proven to be extremely helpful after a long day. The power of good relationships and conversation has also really helped to reduce business-related stress. Just taking that time for coffee with family and friends is huge.
As a digital entrepreneur, I spend a good deal of time on social media. I see all the content that businesspeople post and I think it is so inspiration. But I think it is imperative for people to know what worked for someone else might not work for you. Not everyone can successfully do “the grind culture”, it just doesn’t work for everyone.
I think when people hear the term “self-care” they think it means being too soft on yourself. But that’s not what it is, self-care really is necessary for growth and success. Any person who has reached success has practiced some form of self-care. Everyone successful person either regularly participates in some kind of self-care like exercise/meditation, connects with nature and other people and just takes that time to reflect. And if you hear that they don’t, it is simply not true.
I’m challenging everyone to take care of themselves and develop a plan to reduce stress in their business life. As entrepreneurs, we have a lot of passion but stress can fog that passion and we don’t want that! Take the time this weekend to decrease that entrepreneur stress and regain that entrepreneur joy again!
